Different types of marked playing cards have different markings that can be read by poker analyzers. Some are printed with invisible markers that can’t even be seen by sunglasses or contact lenses, while others have strong invisible infrared cameras marks that can only be seen by poker analysts. These marked cards are used to cheat at poker.

IR invisible ink marked cards – these are usually used by cheating partners in the same table. They can only be seen with a special lens that emits infrared light. Normal sunglasses or contact lenses cannot detect the IR marks. These are often used in magic tricks but can also be a way to cheat when playing poker.

Barcode marked poker cards are the most common marked cards used for Texas hold’em. They are regular index Copag plastic bridge size playing cards, but on the side they have invisible barcode marks that can only be read by a poker scanner camera and poker analyzer. The poker analyzer will read the barcode and send the results of the game to the player through a Bluetooth mini-earpiece.

To scan the barcode marked cards, players need to buy a poker analyzer and an external scanning camera. The poker analyzer comes with a built in camera that can read the barcodes on the cards from 20-40cm away. However, if you’re sitting further from the dealer, an external scanning camera is needed.
